The hard part will be deciding where to start!
The island of Marettimo is the wildest and most unspoiled of the archipelago. As a stamp of the Egadi Islands, its blue backdrops cannot help but conquer you!
An ideal destination for lovers of trekking and sailing, Marettimo is one of the few still authentic places in our Mediterranean which is characterized by the numerous caves, many of which can only be reached by sea. You can venture into dozens of routes on foot that allow you to discover all the secrets of the island. In fact, a series of paths branch off from Porto Scalo and lead to all cardinal points.
Among the most beautiful and suggestive routes, the path that leads to Pizzo Falcone offers extraordinary panoramic points. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a simpler path, you can reach Punta Basano or the famous path that leads to Punta Troia and its Norman castle.
Marettimo is a mountainous island, the beaches are not its strong point. For beach lovers, it is better to choose Favignana or Levanzo, this does not mean that you cannot take a dip and relax in Marettimo too.
On the island the call of the sea is strong, in front of beaches such as Praia Nacchi, Cala Nera, Cretazzo beach and many others....
In Marettimo there is the Castelo di Punta di Troia, a fortification that stands on the promontory of the same name, which can be reached via a dirt path from the town.
The simplest way to reach the island from Marsala is the hydrofoil departing from the port. The crossing lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Or you can choose the option of circumnavigating the island by renting a dinghy or boat.
