The colors and flavors of a territory
In 1600, the Ancient Market was the "Piazza d'Armi" of the Spanish Quarter (the current Town Hall) with horse stables inside.
After the fall of the Spanish domination, the site took on a commercial aspect, transforming itself mainly into a fish, fruit, and vegetable market.
About ten years ago, the Ancient Market has also assumed the role as the "nightlife" of the city center, with many cafes that also become a meeting place for both citizens and visitors.
