Tips for an environmentally friendly trip

Are you a responsible tourist and want to move around visiting our city in a sustainable way? Surely you are already clear about what you can do to reduce the environmental impact that we human beings create to our planet day after day. During your stay in Marsala, we suggest some small actions that do not require much effort on your part, but will help you feel good about yourself and the world around you.

  • Minimize waste generation. Reduce plastic packaging with reusable bottles and bags.
  • Use water and energy responsibly. In your accommodation, do not waste water, utilities, and change towels only when necessary.
  • Avoid paper. "Marsala Vacanze" offers you online or downloadable editions of all our guides.
  • Recycle. In the city you will find waste bins and dumpsters marked with certain colors.
  • When you can, move around by foot, bicycle or public transportation.
  • Shop in the small trade, buy local handicrafts, and try the local gastronomy, processed from seasonal and local products.
  • Enjoy Marsala's natural resources in a responsible way.
  • If you see a loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) or any other species on our coasts in need of help, the best thing to do is to call 1530 to activate the Beaching Network.
  • Respect the rules and customs of the city and the quiet of your neighbors.
